Victor Osimhen’s explosive hat-trick against Ajax in the UEFA Champions League continues to earn rave reviews, with Ivorian defender Wilfried Singo the latest to heap praise on the Super Eagles striker.

The Galatasaray forward produced another masterful display at the Johan Cruijff Arena, netting three times to seal a commanding 3-0 win for the Turkish champions. His heroics earned him the Man of the Match award and a nomination for the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week, alongside Arsenal’s Mikel Merino and Manchester City’s Phil Foden.

Singo: “Osimhen is Winning Us Games”

Speaking after the match, Singo couldn’t hide his admiration for his teammate’s impact since joining the Istanbul club.

“Osimhen is a very big player and scorer. I’m so happy to play with him,” the 24-year-old defender told Galatasaray’s official website.

“He’s winning us a lot of games with his goals. I’m really happy to share the pitch with him.”

Singo, who joined Okan Buruk’s side from AS Monaco last summer, recently returned from a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for a month. The match against Ajax marked his first full 90 minutes since September, and the Ivorian was pleased with both his recovery and the team’s collective performance.

“I’m very happy with the victory tonight. We achieved this result through great teamwork,” he said.

“The medical staff did an amazing job helping me regain full fitness, and I think I performed well after the injury.”

Osimhen’s Historic Champions League Run

Osimhen’s recent exploits have made headlines across Europe. The Nigerian forward became the first Galatasaray player to score a brace in consecutive Champions League matches, and only the second in the club’s history to record a hat-trick in Europe’s elite competition, the first being Burak Yılmaz in 2012.

His consistency has turned Galatasaray into genuine contenders this season, while his partnership with stars like Leroy Sané, Ilkay Gündogan, and Mario Lemina continues to flourish both domestically and in Europe.

Galatasaray’s Momentum Builds

With Osimhen in unstoppable form, Galatasaray are riding high in both the Turkish Super Lig and Champions League, showcasing a balance of defensive solidity and attacking flair.

For Singo, returning to full fitness just as Osimhen hits top gear could prove vital for the Turkish champions as they aim for another deep run in Europe’s most prestigious competition.
